Our stones are lapped and ready to use right out of the box. You don't need to flatten them before your first use.
However, to maintain optimal performance and ensure a perfectly flat surface, we recommend lapping the stones every 12-16 months. This helps to remove any inconsistencies or dishing that may occur over time with regular use.
The best method for lapping our stones is to use silicon carbide (SiC) powder. We offer a comprehensive lapping kit that includes everything you need:
