Before using the Hapstone Dressing Stone, it's important to soak it in water for a couple of minutes to allow it to absorb moisture. This will help improve its effectiveness and prevent damage to your sharpening stones.
Once soaked, gently rub the Dressing Stone against the surface of the sharpening stone you wish to clean for about 15-20 seconds. This will help remove any built-up residue or debris.
Afterward, rinse the Dressing Stone thoroughly and let it air dry at room temperature.
The sharpening stone that you cleaned should also be rinsed and left to air dry completely before its next use.
